Job summary

Robin Radar Systems is seeking a Team Lead Electronics Engineering to blend hardware mastery with people leadership. You will guide a team of engineers designing, testing, and refining the electronics powering our radar systems.

Reporting to the Head of Innovation, you will set technical direction, ensure IPC/EMC compliance, manage resources, and collaborate with suppliers, EMS partners, and academic institutions to deliver high-quality hardware.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years hands-on PCB hardware design experience.
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience.
• Deep knowledge of RF circuits, FPGAs, high-speed interfaces, and digital design.
• Experience with EMC regulations and IPC standards.
• Hands-on with Altium Designer and test equipment (VNAs, oscilloscopes).
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Team leadership and coaching: Guide and mentor a team of engineers on their daily work and project execution.
• Technical direction and standards: Define technical direction and team standards, ensuring high quality and alignment across all designs. Lead new design projects and product improvements for electrical, optical, and thermal control. Present designs and run constructive reviews with the team.
• Resource and operational management: Allocate resources efficiently, assign project tasks, and manage work schedules.
• PCB design and layout: Hands-on PCB layout creation using Altium Designer. Guide choices on RF and analog circuits, digital design, and high-speed interfaces.
• Circuit testing and verification: Oversee detailed testing, simulation, and design verification. Ensure findings are documented properly before releasing components or sub-assembly solutions to production.
• Design documentation and compliance: Keep design files, test reports, and technical specs structured and up to date. Maintain compliance with relevant IPC standards, EMC regulations, and internal procedures.
• Process improvement and partner alignment: Identify areas for operational improvement, evaluate proposed design changes to balance added value against resource expenditure, and manage contractor POs/timesheets. Collaborate directly with component suppliers, EMS partners, and academic institutions

As our Team Lead Electronics Engineering, you blend technical hardware expertise with people-minded leadership.

You guide a talented team of several engineers designing, testing, and refining the electronics that power our radar systems.

Reporting to our Head of Innovation, you work closely with cross-functional areas like I&D Engineering, I&D Project Management, Procurement, and our external partners.

You make sure our hardware is top quality, our processes run smoothly, and your team gets space to grow.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc degree in Electronic Engineering or a related technical field
• 8+ years of hands-on PCB hardware design experience with strong overall electronic design skills
• Proven experience leading, mentoring, or coaching technical team members
• Deep technical knowledge of RF circuits, FPGAs, high-speed interfaces, and digital design
• Strong experience with EMC regulations and IPC standards
• Hands-on expertise with Altium Designer and measurement equipment like VNAs and oscilloscopes
• Basic proficiency in electromagnetic (EM) knowledge is considered a distinct asset
• Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and ability to balance leadership with hands-on technical work
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with great cross-cultural communication skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project or partner sites
