Your role as a System Test Engineer at Movella

As a System Test Engineer, you will play a key role in expanding our QA capabilities as we continue to grow our product portfolio and market reach. You will have a significant influence in shaping our testing methodologies and quality standards. You will be primarily responsible for testing entire systems and applications in integrated environments, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together across our hardware, firmware, PC software, cloud platforms, and mobile applications.

You will be based in Enschede, the Netherlands, with excellent opportunities for professional growth and leadership development as our QA team expands. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on product quality while working with cutting-edge movement technology.

Key challenges:

Perform comprehensive end-to-end testing across our complete product ecosystem including hardware devices, embedded firmware, PC software, cloud services, and Android/iOS applications
Work with multidisciplinary development teams to ensure seamless integration between all system components and validate complete user workflows
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand acceptance criteria and system requirements, ensuring complete test coverage
Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and release strategies for complex multi-platform products
Develop and execute both manual and automated testing approaches
Drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies and establish quality assurance standards

Your skills and experience

Movella is looking for an independent and proactive System Test Engineer who thrives in an environment where initiative and a can-do attitude are highly valued. You have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
3+ years of experience in system-level testing, preferably with integrated hardware/software products
Proven ability to design and execute detailed test cases based on requirements and specifications
Experience with testing across multiple platforms (embedded systems, desktop applications, mobile apps, cloud services)
Programming experience in Python and/or C++ for test automation (preferred)
Experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
English communication skills and collaborative mindset
Self-motivated with ability to work independently and take ownership
Strong mentoring skills and willingness to help grow team capabilities
Passionate about delivering high-quality products that exceed customer expectations

Nice to have:

Experience with motion sensing, IoT devices, or sensor-based products
Knowledge of real-time systems and embedded software testing
Familiarity with mobile app testing frameworks and cloud API validation
