The work As a Manager in Sustainability Services in the Netherlands, you will be part of our Industry & Enterprise team. You will work on a wide variety of projects related to the agenda of the Chief Executive and Sustainability Officers (CEO and CSO). The Sustainability Services team operates at the intersection of Strategy, Process, Data, and Technology. As a manager, you will drive sustainability business advisory through end-to-end project delivery, which means that you will be involved in all stages of a project, from strategy to implementation. You will play a key role in business development and relationship management with our clients across various industries, focusing on ESG Intelligence & Performance, Net Zero Execution & Optimization, Sustainable Value Chains, and Traceable & Circular Products amongst others.
In your role, you will lead projects and collaborate with international and diverse teams to build and develop the practice of our team.
Responsibilities
- Strategy: You will play a crucial role in supporting clients to shape their business strategy in line with sustainability ambitions in an increasingly disrupted world. You bring expertise, best practices, and strategic insights. You will collaborate with CEOs and CSOs and their teams to perform strategy assessments and recommend and implement sustainability leading practices to improve their sustainability performance through increased metric and process maturity, supply chain collaboration and transparency, net zero transition efforts, product strategies, operating model re-design and more.
- Technology: Sustainability is a critical cross functional discipline, and organizations are embracing digitally driven business models, and insights to drive better sustainability performance. As a manager, you will lead small sustainability teams, cooperating with technology experts on the selection, implementation and integration of sustainability systems and tools, utilizing advanced analytics and cutting‑edge technologies like GenAI to enhance efficiency and provide valuable insights.
- People: connect with C‑level client stakeholders and play a critical role in transforming sustainability performance by prioritizing talent development, nurturing a culture of continuous improvement, and leading organizational change management initiatives. Recognize change management needs within sustainability teams to ensure employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and capabilities to effectively embrace new processes, tools, and technologies.
- Data: Data plays a crucial role in maximizing efficiency and delivering value. As part of our team, you will utilize sustainability data to provide key insights and help CEOs and CSOs become more data‑driven, enabling true business partnering required for sustainable growth and decision‑making.
Qualifications
- Master’s (WO) degree in Strategy, Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or related degrees.
- A minimum of 6 years overall experience with 3 years of relevant experience within sustainability strategy or management consulting.
- Experience with the challenges that CSOs face, strong knowledge in one or more sustainability domains such as ESG performance management, decarbonization, circular economy, sustainable value chains, or sustainability reporting.
- Familiarity with relevant frameworks and standards (e.g. CSRD, ISSB, SBTi, TCFD) is a strong plus.
- Ability to deliver compelling presentations and narratives.
- Experience with establishing connections with sustainability experts.
- Leadership and communication skills to mentor, challenge, advise, and coach team members and foster a collaborative environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high energy, demanding and collaborative environment.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
