Job summary

• Degree in Automation, Instrumentation, Control Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in industrial commissioning.

• Experience on energy, chemical, petrochemical, hydrogen, oil & gas, or process industries projects.
• Fluent English in written and spoken communication.

Overview

For a major industrial project in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Commissioning System Specialist / DCS Expert to join the site team during the commissioning phase. The successful candidate will support commissioning activities by ensuring the proper operation of the Distributed Control System (DCS), validating control logic implementation, and contributing to the successful start-up of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform a critical review of the existing DCS architecture and configuration.
• Support site teams in the execution of DCS-related commissioning activities.
• Conduct and supervise control logic verification (Logic Checks).
• Participate in functional testing of equipment and systems.
• Carry out Loop Checks and monitor the resolution of identified issues.
• Verify consistency between engineering documentation and on-site implementation.
• Analyze technical deviations and propose improvements when required.
• Challenge existing design choices to optimize system performance, reliability, and operability.
• Provide regular reporting to the project and commissioning teams.

PROFILE

• Degree in Automation, Instrumentation, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience in industrial commissioning and DCS systems.
• Experience on complex industrial projects within the energy, chemical, petrochemical, hydrogen, oil & gas, or process industries sectors.
• Strong knowledge of DCS systems and control system architectures.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
