Job summary

DS Smith is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for Central EMEA to advise on strategic and operational legal matters across the Central EMEA region, including Benelux and D-A-CH markets. You will draft and negotiate complex agreements and coordinate with Group Legal to standardise processes across jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate has eight years of experience, a law degree and admission to practise, with fluent English and strong German or Dutch, and a willingness to travel regularly across

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of contract, commercial, business and corporate law.
• Proven experience with complex commercial agreements and cross-border matters.
• Excellent stakeholder management and senior management communication.

Responsibilities

• Support and advise Managing Directors and senior management on strategic and operational legal matters across Central EMEA.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex agreements with customers, suppliers and partners including tenders and technology agreements.
• Develop standardised contracting approaches using Group templates, guidelines and playbooks with Legal teams across jurisdictions.
• Identify material legal, regulatory and compliance risks and develop mitigation measures.
• Advise on corporate law, governance, intra-group arrangements, reorganisations and regulatory requirements.
• Manage disputes and regulatory proceedings and coordinate external law firms as needed.
• Provide legal support for international business, integration, transformation projects and M&A in Central EMEA.
• Collaborate with Group Legal to embed AI and tech-enabled platforms in the legal function.
