Job summary

UMCG Research BV, a 100% subsidiary of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), seeks an experienced Project Manager to strategically steer complex national and international research projects. You will liaise with researchers, funding bodies and support services to drive progress and ensure outcomes that matter for health tomorrow.

You will coordinate grant applications, manage consortia meetings and monitor budgets, risks and timelines, while promoting knowledge sharing and professional

Qualifications

• Completed HBO or WO degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in a complex research, funding, or international collaboration environment is a strong advantage.
• Experience coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to oversee multiple projects.
• Strong English and Dutch communication skills.
• Experience with grant-funded projects, research organisations, knowledge institutions, healthcare organisations, or public-sector organisations is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead shaping, structuring and strategically steering complex research projects across lifecycle.
• Advise, organise, facilitate, and connect researchers and consortia at a strategic level.
• Coordinate multiple projects with researchers, funding bodies, and national/international partners.
• Monitor progress, risks and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
• Coordinate contract negotiations and align agreements with project objectives.
• Ensure timely, high-quality reports and strategic documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements and collaboration structures.
• Support knowledge sharing and professionalisation of research project management.
