Job summary

Heerema Marine Contractors seeks an Enterprise Architect to shape our digital landscape, ensuring technology aligns with business strategy, operations, and long-term sustainability.

You will guide architecture governance, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and drive portfolio planning across global projects from Leiden. This role requires strategic thinking, advisory influence, and hands-on modelling of complex environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Engineering, Business or related field.
• Approximately 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, business/IT strategy or complex solution environments.
• Experience across multiple architecture domains (business, application, data and/or technology)
• Familiarity with cloud ecosystems, APIs, integration patterns, microservices and modern application architectures.
• Experience contributing to portfolio planning, capability development and technology roadmaps.
• Familiarity with Agile and Lean ways of working and enterprise delivery environments.
• Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and practical levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and evolving a holistic view of the enterprise IT landscape and its alignment with business capabilities.
• Providing architectural guidance across initiatives to ensure consistency, scalability and sustainability.
• Driving early-stage architectural assessment of initiatives to ensure scope, value and alignment.
• Supporting evaluation of new ideas by assessing architectural fit and reuse opportunities.
• Contributing architectural insight to portfolio planning and technology roadmaps.
• Developing and maintaining architectural principles, standards and reference patterns.
• Supporting architecture governance practices and advisory mechanisms.
• Facilitating collaboration between business and IT stakeholders for alignment.
• Driving transparency of the enterprise landscape using architecture repositories.
