Job summary

Picnic is seeking a Buyer to own a product category with full responsibility for delivering the best mix and profitability. You’ll work in a data-driven environment tackling pricing, forecasting, and supplier relations to drive growth while keeping customers happy.

You’ll build category strategy through supplier negotiations and insights, collaborating with your team to uncover commercial opportunities and improve profitability across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• MSc degree with analytical problem-solving.
• 1-3 years of work experience in category management or buying.
• Commercial drive and negotiation skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Interest in food/consumer products.
• Fluent in English; Dutch/German/French a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define clear negotiation strategies with suppliers.
• Run negotiations with many suppliers from start until signed contract.
• Build and develop deep understanding of your category using Picnic data, customer insights and supplier input.
• Identify commercial opportunities using a data-first approach for category innovations.
• Create and execute a pragmatic plan to drive category improvements.
• Understand the end-to-end supply chain and find opportunities to improve range, quality and profitability.
• Collaborate with your category team to deliver the best to customers.
