Job summary

OPEN Health is seeking a Statistical Analyst focusing on Modeling and Meta-Analysis. You will own defined deliverables across projects in a fast-paced, international setting and contribute to statistical and health economic modelling in healthcare.

Ideal candidates have strong R skills, a track record in data analysis and the ability to communicate complex methods. This role offers involvement in diverse, multinational projects and growth opportunities within OPEN Health.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or PhD in statistics or mathematics.
  • Proven programming skills in R. Experience with building packages, version control, RMarkdown, Shiny and STAN would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of health economic modeling would be an advantage.
  • Intellectual curiosity and independence; ability to self-start and self-teach.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to question the status quo.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex statistical methods to team members and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, responsive and able to balance shifting priorities.
  • Team player, but also able to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking statistical and health economic research tasks with guidance from senior consultants, including analyses such as survival analysis and patient-reported outcomes.
  • Engaging in evidence synthesis projects: meta-analysis, network meta-analysis, indirect treatment comparisons, and surrogate endpoint analysis.
  • Identifying and developing statistical methodologies with project teams; developing statistical code for standard analyses.
  • Drafting project reports and other deliverables; adhering to budgets and timelines.
  • Supporting client interactions and responding to proposals as directed.

Statistical Analyst – Modeling and Meta-Analysis

Reports to Senior Statistical Consultant Modeling and Meta-Analysis

Job Summary

As a Statistical Analyst at OPEN Health, you will be an essential contributor to our team, working across a range of projects with ownership of specific deliverables and timelines. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, drawn to a career in statistics applied to a healthcare setting and seeks practical work in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary, international organization. In addition, the ideal candidate should have an affinity with, and proven experience in, statistical or health economic modelling, including a good level of knowledge with R.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Undertaking statistical and health economic research tasks, with support and guidance from senior consultants, by carrying out analyses including:
    • Survival analysis, including flexible and innovative methods
    • Analysis on patient reported outcomes measures from clinical trials (utility analysis)
    • Fitting bespoke statistical models onto clinical trial level data to aid extrapolation into the future and provide parameter estimates for economic models
  • Engaging in evidence synthesis projects such as:
    • Pairwise meta-analysis and Bucher indirect treatment comparisons
    • Bayesian network meta-analysis, including non-proportional hazard methods and meta-regression
    • Population-adjusted indirect treatment comparisons, including matching-adjusted indirect comparison, simulated treatment comparison, and multi-level network meta-regression
    • Analysis of surrogate endpoints
  • Identifying and developing statistical methodologies and strategies in partnership with project teams and independently
  • Assisting and developing in the production and internal dissemination of statistical code for standard analysis
  • Drafting project reports and other deliverables
  • Adhering to project budgets and timelines
  • Supporting client interactions and outreach to ensure exceptional client satisfaction
  • Responding to requests for proposals as directed
Experience, Skills, And Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or PhD in (either MSc, MMATH, or equivalent) in a statistical or mathematical subject.
  • Proven programming skills in R. Experience with building packages, version control, RMarkdown, Shiny and STAN would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of health economic modeling would be an advantage
  • Intellectual curiosity and independence, to include the ability to self-start and self-teach
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) along with the ability to question the status quo
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex statistical methods to other team members and external stakeholders
