Job summary

Filmhuis Den Haag is offering a Programming Intern role to support the team in curating and coordinating special programming, as well as assisting the production team in realising these programs. The internship provides hands-on experience in cultural event management, networking, and film programming under the guidance of the Head of Programming.

Qualifications

• A strong passion for film, arts, and culture.
• Eagerness to learn about cultural/social programming and event management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to act as moderator.
• Organizational and project management abilities with deadlines.
• Willingness to learn basic technical equipment and event setup.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency in English (Dutch is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination of side programming events such as Q&As, panel discussions, and interviews.
• Reach out to potential speakers and cultural ambassadors in The Hague to participate in film-related events.
• Support in organizing and moderating post-screening discussions.
• Assist with the logistics and technical setup of events, including microphones and other audiovisual needs, as part of a learning experience.
• Provide production support, ensuring smooth execution of programs and events.
• Collaborate with the programming team and other departments to align side programming with the main film schedule.

The Internship Role

We are looking for a motivated Programming Intern to support our team in curating and coordinating special programming as well as assisting our production team in realising these programs. This internship offers hands‑on experience in cultural event management, networking, and film programming. The intern will work closely with and receive guidance from the Head of Programming to ensure film screenings are complemented by meaningful discussions and community engagement.

• Some knowledge of basic technical equipment (such as microphones and event setup) or willingness to learn.
• Ability to operate independently as well as in a team‑oriented environment.
• Proficiency in English (Dutch is a plus, but not required).
