Job summary

Fastenal in Dordrecht is seeking a full-time Sourcing Specialist to research and complete formal RFQs, interpreting customer prints and coordinating with sales, engineering, quality and suppliers.

You will identify sources of supply for standard and non-standard items, negotiate bid details for optimal costing, and collaborate with our supplier development and Lean teams to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Researching and completing formal RFQs from Fastenal's customers.
• Working with Sales Teams, Product Development, Manufacturers and Customers.
• Focusing on MRO or OEM parts and cross-referencing parts to customer specs.
• Identifying sources of supply for non-standard items and proposing substitutes.
• Collaborating with Supplier Development to onboard suppliers and improve data content.
• Assisting Lean Solution team with new business implementations.
• Engaging with Industry Sales Specialists and Engineers to understand customer needs.
• Negotiating bid details for optimal costing with suppliers and manufacturers.

OVERVIEW

Working as Full-Time Sourcing Specialist, you will research and complete formal Requests for Quotes (RFQ's). Completing these RFQ's requires you to understand and interpret customer prints and work closely with sales, engineering, quality, suppliers/manufacturers and customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Researching and completing formal Requests for Quotes (RFQ's) from some of Fastenal Company's largest current and potential customers
• Working closely with the following groups: Fastenal Sales Teams, Fastenal Product Development Teams, Manufacturers and Customers
• Working on a team that is focused on MRO or OEM parts
• Cross referencing parts based on customer's specifications
• Identifying sources of supply for non-standard items as well as providing accurate alternate or substitute items when feasible
• Collaborating with Fastenal Supplier Development team to help advance supplier onboards, roadmaps and continuous improvement of data content
• Assisting the Fastenal Lean Solution team with the implementation of new business
• Working with Fastenal Industry Sales Specialists and Fastenal Engineers to better understand customers' needs and solutions
• Negotiating bid details for optimal costing or cost savings initiatives with suppliers and manufacturers

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
