For a high‑tech manufacturer of advanced industrial systems, we’re seeking a Software Test Architect.
You will define the test strategy and test architecture for precision measurement and configuration software used in complex mechatronic equipment. The scope is end‑to‑end: concept through release, blending system‑level thinking with a hands‑on approach.
Why this is interesting
- Work on state‑of‑the‑art capital equipment where software and hardware meet at extreme performance levels.
- Translate high complexity into reliable, maintainable tests and tooling.
- Collaborate with experts across physics, mechatronics, systems engineering, and precision robotics.
- Dynamic scale‑up/scale‑out context with continuous learning, experimentation, and improvement.
What you will do
- Develop and evolve the test strategy focused on coverage, risk, and efficiency.
- Define the test architecture and embed testability‑by‑design with software, hardware, and systems architects.
- Create and maintain test plans, test specifications, and validation strategies.
- Map coverage versus requirements and code; surface gaps early and mitigate risks.
- Translate system requirements into structured manual and automated test cases.
- Perform root cause analysis for issues found in production and in the field.
- Contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Definition of Done discussions.
What you bring
- 7+ years as a (senior) software test engineer or software test architect for complex machine control or high‑tech equipment.
- Proven ability to build end‑to‑end product understanding and drive risk‑based coverage.
- Experience selecting the right mix of unit / component / system / HIL, including simulation and mocking.
- Practical experience with C# and Python for automation and/or simulation.
- Structured testing mindset (e.g., ISTQB principles or equivalent).
Nice to have
- Experience with Jira and test management plugins (e.g., Xray, Zephyr).
- Exposure to industrial automation or complex mechatronic systems.
