Job description

Software Engineer (with Java) - Warehouse Systems

Our Java teams in the Warehouse Systems domain are the reason why our warehouses can process the volume of groceries they do! From dealing with inbound items, to sending totes across the warehouse on conveyor belts, to sending the groceries off to our delivery drivers - our software developers build tools and automations to power the entire warehouse platform. Through designing, developing, and testing new features, or improving the scalability and security of our platform: you’ll be managing individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, while finding yourself fully immersed in an engaging scaleup culture.

Tricks of the trade

Ownership: Take ownership of projects from concept to delivery, aligning technical solutions with business goals

Problem solving: You see a problem, you tackle it with technology - with your users always in mind

Collaboration: Collaborate on cross-team initiative involving complex systems to ensure smooth flows in our warehouses

Our Tech: Java 21/25 (Spring 6 with Spring Boot 3.5, Reactor, Immutables, Maven), RabbitMQ, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Git, Docker, AWS, Helm, Terraform, Kubernetes, Vault, Datadog, Python 3.x

You have a Master’s Degree (in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related technical field) or equivalent experience

You have a product mindset and treat technology as a means to an end, owning and solving business problems by choosing the best-fitting technical solutions and tools for each challenge

You have 2-5 years of professional experience with Java and have a profound understanding of back-end development

Your English skills are on point (no Dutch required)

You have experience with AI tooling and are comfortable with agentic engineering

You're based in or happy to relocate to the Netherlands*

* We work from our office in Amsterdam. Being present makes a genuine difference to your team and the work. There's flexibility to work from home when needed, but if remote or hybrid-first is what you're after, this probably isn't the right fit.
