Job summary

Crystalloids, a Premier Google Cloud Partner, is seeking a software developer to build scalable solutions on Google Cloud. You will work on serverless architectures, integrate data pipelines, and apply strong software engineering practices in a collaborative, quality-focused environment.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with Java/Python, SQL, and Google Cloud services, and are comfortable with CI/CD, data security, and agile methods. Rotterdam office-based role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services and data engineering tools.
• Experience with Java and Python; SQL skills essential.
• Familiarity with Agile development and TDD is a plus.
• Strong collaboration and documentation skills.

What will you do as a software developer?

Crystalloids is an expert in developing scalable and maintainable software solutions on Google Cloud. You will work on projects that leverage serverless products and services, focusing on integrating high-quality software engineering practices into data-driven processes. Main responsibilities and tasks

• Develop (Cost) Efficient Solutions: Create efficient and scalable solutions within a defined architectural framework. Leverage serverless products and services to efficiently implement scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Create data engineering/integration solutions: Developing and implementing data engineering and integration solutions, including building data pipelines and performing data transformations based on specified designs.
• Security and Data Protection: Integrate security and data protection considerations into all solutions.
• Everything as Code: Implement "everything as code" practices for better traceability and maintainability. Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• Quality Assurance: Assess and validate delivered solutions to ensure they address business needs effectively, adhere to established standards, and maintain a pragmatic balance between quality and practicality.
• Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to explain the delivered solutions and address any inquiries or feedback.
• Leverage AI in Software Development: Utilize AI-assisted development tools and AI-powered engineering practices to improve productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and solution design. Identify opportunities to incorporate AI capabilities into client solutions where they add business value.

Experience and qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Core Tools: Cloud Run, Firestore, Apigee, Cloud Composer/Apache Airflow, Pub/Sub, Dataform (dbt), and Terraform (infrastructure as code). Use AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Gemini Code Assist, ChatGPT, and Claude to accelerate software development
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Services: AppEngine, Endpoints, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Dataflow, and Cloud Datastore.
• Data Engineering: Experience working with data, building data solutions, and designing data pipelines.
• Programming languages: Java/Python, SQL
• Methodologies: Experience with Agile development using Scrum, test-driven development (TDD), object orientation and modeling via UML, and scripting (Shell scripting).
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, and proficiency in documenting workflows and designs.
• Certificates: A GCP Professional certificate (Developer, Data Engineer, Architect) is a plus.
