U-People in the Bergen op Zoom region is seeking a Software/PLC Engineer to own the control software of custom machines. You will translate specs into PLC code, develop HMIs, and visualize machine operation while staying involved through design, simulation, testing and commissioning.
You will work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and production to deliver reliable solutions, solve technical challenges, and continuously improve automation.
Do you have experience with PLC programming and industrial automation, and would you like to see your software come to life in complex machinery? In this role, you work on the complete machine control process: from software design and programming to testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
You will join a medium-sized technical organisation in the Bergen op Zoom region that designs and builds complex, custom-made machinery and technical installations in-house. Engineering and production work closely together, allowing you to work directly with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Automation Engineers, and production colleagues.
The organisation has a practical and technical culture, with short communication lines and a strong focus on delivering reliable, high-quality solutions. Because engineering and production are closely connected, you can quickly see how your software performs in practice and directly contribute to improvements.
As a Software Engineer / PLC Engineer, you will be responsible for the control software of custom-built machines and technical installations. You will translate functional and technical specifications into software designs and develop PLC controls, HMIs, and machine visualisations.
You will remain involved throughout the complete process, from initial software development through simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning. This combination of engineering and practical implementation gives you the opportunity to see your software operate on real machinery and work directly with colleagues to solve technical challenges.
Every project is different, providing continuous opportunities to develop your automation expertise and create reliable, practical software solutions for complex machines.
