Job summary

DEKRA Rail is building a Smart Metering team in Arnhem and seeks a Smart Metering Engineer to join as one of the first experts. You will perform testing on smart energy meters, evaluate results, and liaise with international standards bodies and customers.

You will help develop test methods, contribute to accreditations, and support growth of the Smart Metering activities across the organization, collaborating with EV charging, electrical safety, electronics, and cybersecurity teams.

Qualifications

• Background in electrical engineering.
• Experience testing energy meters or related electrical instrumentation.
• Familiarity with international standards for metering.

Responsibilities

• Testing AC and DC energy meters according to global standards.
• Preparing test plans, measurement reports, and technical documentation.
• Interpreting test results and standards in metering.
• Supporting accreditation and certification processes.
• Acting as the technical point of contact for customers.
• Collaborating with EV charging, electrical safety, electronics, and cybersecurity.
• Staying up to date with developments in smart metering and intelligent energy networks.

The energy transition requires reliable and accurate smart meters. DEKRA is growing and building a new Smart Energy Metering team. As a Smart Metering Engineer, you will be one of the first experts in this field at DEKRA. You will perform testing on smart energy meters, evaluate measurement results, work with international standards, and act as a key technical partner for both customers and colleagues. In addition, you will actively contribute to the development of test methods, accreditations, and the further growth of our Smart Metering activities.

Responsibilities

• Testing AC and DC energy meters according to global standards such as IEC 62052, IEC 62053, ANSI C12, OIML, and others.
• Preparing test plans, measurement reports, and technical documentation.
• Interpreting test results and standards such as IEC 62052, IEC 62053, ANSI C12, MID, OIML, and related standards.
• Supporting accreditation and certification processes.
• Acting as the technical point of contact for customers.
• Collaborating with colleagues from EV Charging, Electrical Safety, Electronics, and Cybersecurity.
• Staying up to date with developments in smart metering and intelligent energy networks.
