Syntec Personeelsdiensten seeks experienced Shipyard Ironworker / Fitter (Sections or Outfitting) in Groningen, Netherlands, on a temporary contract via an employment agency. The role focuses on assembling ship sections and outfitting, with work across MIG/MAG welding and precision fitting.

You will read technical drawings, follow plans, and maintain safety standards while collaborating with welders and engineers to deliver high-quality ship structures.

Qualifications

• Vocational training in shipbuilding or metalworking.
• Proven track record as block constructor/fitter in shipbuilding or similar.
• Strong ability to read technical blueprints and work from plans.
• Welding knowledge and familiarity with MIG/MAG processes.
• Holder of a valid VCA safety certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fit ship sections into full structures.
• Follow drawings, work plans, and safety rules.
• Build and align ship structures using steel and other materials.
• Perform MIG/MAG welding, cutting, and fitting.
• Inspect work quality and maintain a safe environment.
• Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and engineers.
