About your role

About the team

The Business Infrastructure team is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing the core technological infrastructure, operating processes, and planning with key business stakeholders, ensuring an efficient and timely flow of value that aligns with Fairphone’s commercial and sustainability targets, as well as long-term strategic vision.

This function maintains continuous alignment with Commercial, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations Asia, IT Administration & Support, Customer Support, and other teams across different locations (Amsterdam, Mainland China, the United States, and others) to ensure that the business processes and supporting infrastructure are defined, standardized, and effectively implemented.

About your role

Business Infrastructure is responsible for the platform and systems behind Fairphone's core business operations. Over the coming years, we will simplify a fragmented application landscape, modernize our ERP and commerce platforms, run multiregion commerce operations, strengthen our data and integration capabilities, and build a more scalable technology foundation for Fairphone’s growth.

As a Service Development Planner, you make delivery across this portfolio predictable, transparent, and actively managed.

You coordinate delivery across multiple workstreams, internal teams, business stakeholders, and external development partners. You keep plans, dependencies, commitments, risks, decisions, and changes written down and current, so that issues surface early and agreed actions are followed through. You also operate the structured intake process through which new business requests enter the portfolio — making sure each request is understood, scoped with the right business and technical owners, and supported by the evidence needed for prioritization.

Architecture, technical solution design, business‑process ownership, and final portfolio prioritization sit with their accountable owners: the Business Infrastructure Lead, the Business Process Architect, the Strategic Delivery Manager, and our engineering leads. Your role is to make sure those owners can make their decisions at the right time, with the right information — and that the resulting commitments turn into executable delivery plans.

Your success is measured by one thing: whether the organization has a reliable view of what is being delivered, by whom, by when, what is at risk, and what decisions or interventions are required.

You are accountable for:

  • Delivery planning and orchestration across Business Infrastructure workstreams (the "when" and "who")
  • Operating the intake process: staging, scoping coordination, and pipeline transparency.
  • Coordinating external development partners against agreed scopes, plans, and budgets.
  • Change, release, and adoption management, including the definition of done.
  • Portfolio reporting: progress, risks, dependencies, capacity, decisions, and changes.
Key Responsibilities & Objectives

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain integrated delivery plans across ERP, commerce, data, integration, API, and business-service workstreams, and run a regular portfolio delivery review cadence where agreed actions are documented and followed through.
  • Operate the Business Infrastructure intake process: coordinate clarification and scoping with business owners, process owners, engineering leads, and other specialists, so requests are sufficiently defined before they are presented for prioritization.
  • Translate approved priorities into executable delivery plans with clear owners, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Maintain the portfolio's single source of truth — risk, dependency, decision, commitment, and change registers — and keep it current and reliable.
  • Coordinate external development partners end-to-end: scoping, planning, delivery tracking against scope, schedule, and budget, and business and technical acceptance together with the accountable internal owners.
  • Route technical questions and decisions to the appropriate architecture or engineering owner, rather than letting them be resolved implicitly within project coordination.
  • Identify emerging delivery risks, capacity constraints, and dependency conflicts early, and elevate them with clear impact, options, and the decision required.
  • Track capacity and budget consumption across workstreams and surface forecast deviations before they become problems.
  • Establish and maintain practical delivery-management standards — backlog hygiene, definition of ready and done, planning cadence, status reporting, decision documentation — that give teams autonomy with visibility.
  • Coordinate rollout, stakeholder communication, operational handover, and adoption follow-through with the relevant business owners.
  • Continuously improve the delivery operating model based on observed bottlenecks, recurring delays, and portfolio performance.

Key Objectives

  • A reliable intake process: one visible pipeline for Business Infrastructure requests, where each item has business context, ownership, technical input, estimated effort, and dependencies before it reaches prioritization — with demand, capacity, and lead-time evidence supporting those decisions.
  • One portfolio view: a maintained single source of truth for plans, milestones, dependencies, commitments, risks, decisions, change requests, partner delivery, and budget consumption. Stakeholders understand portfolio status without informal follow-up or verbal updates.
  • Delivery predictability: clear ownership, milestones, and definition of readiness across major workstreams, with deviations tracked and corrective decisions requested early — not discovered close to deadlines.
  • Partner delivery under control: external partners working against clearly agreed scopes, milestones, and budgets, with performance tracked, deviations forecast, and acceptance coordinated with the responsible internal owners.
  • Adoption, not just deployment: major changes land with rollout planning, stakeholder communication, acceptance criteria, and post‑release follow‑through. Deployment is not completion; the agreed definition of done is.
Your Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years in delivery management, technical program management, project or portfolio management, or a comparable role supporting technology teams — ideally around ERP, e‑commerce, data platforms, integrations, or other business‑critical systems.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple concurrent technology workstreams involving internal teams, business stakeholders, and external development partners.
  • Strong technical fluency: you don't need to be the solution architect or lead engineer, but you can follow technical discussions, spot missing information, question assumptions and estimates constructively, and recognize when a technical decision is required — and from whom.
  • Experience establishing or operating structured intake, demand‑management, or portfolio‑prioritization processes, including setting expectations and protecting teams from scope creep and ad hoc interruptions.
  • Experience managing external technology vendors or development partners against agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Strong planning and dependency‑management skills across complex, cross‑functional initiatives, with the discipline to surface risks early rather than elevate late.
  • Strong written communication and documentation habits: you maintain delivery artifacts — plans, registers, reports — that others can rely on without continuous verbal explanation.
  • Experience with agile delivery practices, combined with pragmatism about adapting the approach to the nature of the work.
  • Working knowledge of change management, release management, and adoption practices.
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders while keeping ownership, commitments, and decision rights clear.
  • Excellent written and verbal English.
