SMART Photonics in Eindhoven, Netherlands seeks a Senior Wet Etch Engineer to own and optimize chemical wet-etch processes for photonic devices. You will lead process development, quality, and safety, guiding a team of engineers and collaborating with Equipment, Operations, and R&D.

The role emphasizes process control, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement through SPC/DoE, and you will represent the department in management reviews while growing the team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry or a related field.
• 6+ years post-graduation experience with chemical wet etch processes in a wafer fab.
• Strong understanding of safety guidelines for semiconductor IC fabrication.
• Proven drive for operational excellence aligned with company vision.
• Experience with process improvement and statistical tools such as FMEA, SPC and DoE.
• Natural drive to take ownership, stay focused and be proactive.

Responsabilités

• Own the wet etch process: ensure all wet etch processes and tools are released on time and qualified.
• Improve continuously: analyze processes and control systems to increase efficiency, yield and reduce costs.
• Be the technical reference: provide in-depth wet etch knowledge and support the team.
• Coach and grow the team: guide junior colleagues and strengthen their skills.
• Represent your department: contribute depth and perspective in management meetings and cross-functional collaboration.
