Monks in Hilversum is seeking a Visual Product Designer to shape innovative digital products and experiences. You will explore ideas, develop visual concepts, and guide the visual direction from early stages with Design Leads, UX Designers, Motion Designers, Engineers, and other partners.

The ideal candidate combines strong visual craft with curiosity, strategic thinking, and a passion for emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Product Design, Visual Product Design, Visual Design, or Art Direction for digital products.
• A portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft, concept development, and product thinking.
• Experience contributing to early-stage explorations, creative direction, prototypes, or innovation-focused projects.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the visual direction and creative development of digital products, experiences, and prototypes.
• Explore multiple concepts and design approaches before converging on a final solution.
• Translate product opportunities, high-level ideas, and briefs into tangible design concepts.
• Create compelling UI explorations, storyboards, mockups, and prototypes that communicate a vision effectively.
• Collaborate closely with UX, Motion, Engineering, and Design Leadership throughout the concepting process.
• Participate in workshops, brainstorming sessions, and creative explorations.
• Balance creativity with usability, feasibility, and product requirements.
• Present design rationale and explain the thinking behind proposed directions.
• Stay informed about design trends, emerging technologies, AI tools, and new interaction patterns.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate ideation, concept development, and visual exploration.
