Job summary

RCE Staffing is seeking an experienced Commodity Trader for a Rotterdam-area role focused on growing and managing client and supplier portfolios within a EU commercial hub. The position offers a base salary in line with market, plus a commission structure rewarding commercial performance.

The role requires 4+ years in international commodity trading, proficiency in import/export operations, and fluent English. Sponsorship is not available; Rotterdam location preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a commercial strategy covering procurement and sales.
• Source suppliers and acquire new B2B customers with full ownership of the sales cycle from first contact to contract.
• Manage and grow a supplier and customer portfolio, with the goal of increasing volume and product range over time.
• Handle foreign trade operations (import-export), coordination with logistics, legal, QA, and finance departments.
• Represent the company at events and exhibitions.
• Reporting duties on pipeline and sales performance to management.

Are you an experienced Commodity Trader living near Rotterdam looking for your next challenge? We are seeking you. Your role will be to grow and manage the clients and suppliers within your portfolio. Successful commercial performance will be rewarded with an attractive commission structure.

This is an exciting opportunity within a small (but growing team) centrally located in Rotterdam.

Our client supplies(and provides services for) the food ingredient market. They operate across the EU and global markets and are now establishing and scaling their EU commercial hub and you would be a key part of the client’s commercial growth strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a commercial strategy covering both procurement and sales;
• Source the suppliers and acquire new B2B customers, with full ownership of the sales cycle from first contact to contract;
• Manage and grow a supplier and customer portfolio, with the goal of increasing both volume and product range over time;
• Handle foreign trade operations (import-export), coordination with logistics, legal, QA, and finance departments;
• Represent the company at events and exhibitions;
• Reporting duties on pipeline and sales performance to management.

What we are looking for:

• 4 + years of hands‑on experience in international commodity trading with a background in food, dairy products, biodiesel or agricultural ingredients;
• More experienced candidates also considered;
• Proven track record of new business development;
• Experience with foreign trade operations (import/export documentation, Incoterms, cross‑border contracts)
• Strong negotiator with a direct, commercially sharp communication style
• Fluent English, other languages strongly beneficial.
• Based in the Netherlands, preferably in Rotterdam area
• Unfortunately sponsorship not possible.
