Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Senior Solution Consultant to advance sales pursuits by evangelizing Workiva’s data management capabilities and platform technologies. You’ll demonstrate value through tailored demos, architectural presentations, and strategic messaging across IT, finance, and risk teams.

The role requires guiding discovery, aligning solutions with customer needs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure deployment success and lifecycle adoption.

Qualifications

• 6 years of technical customer-facing experience, ideally in presales, implementation consulting, or training/enablement.
• Experience with data management, database design and analysis, with SQL, data modeling, and multidimensional concepts.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise data architecture to extend an organization’s data strategy.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools and understanding of MCP concepts.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, IT security considerations, GDPR and data privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of the cross-functional sales team on each opportunity, driving the technical agenda from initial engagement through deal closure.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends that may influence Workiva solutions.
• Execute the technical discovery process with customers to identify where Workiva solutions align to needs.
• Prepare and deliver tailored, value-driven technical demos and presentations of the Workiva platform.
• Collaborate with IT, architecture, and business teams across customer organizations to tailor solutions.
• Address regional architecture requirements, including GDPR compliance and data residency considerations.
• Tailor technical messaging and demos for multi-currency and multi-entity consolidation.
• Share findings with product management, engineering, and sales leadership to foster alignment and innovation.
• Engage with customers and partners to ensure success and satisfaction with Workiva.
• Develop working knowledge of industries, departments, and use cases where Workiva can impact.
• Pursue innovative and creative problem-solving using the Workiva platform.

The Senior Solution Consultant advances sales pursuits and helps drive revenue attainment by passionately evangelizing Workiva’s cutting-edge data management capabilities and the broad set of technologies powering the Workiva platform. The Senior Solution Consultant clearly demonstrates and explains how Workiva solutions work, ensuring their success and adoption through tailored demonstrations, technical and architecture presentations, and communication of value-based messaging about the Workiva platform. A critical part of the job is to ensure an understanding of Workiva’s role, placement, and footprint in an organization’s technology landscape.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a key member of the cross-functional sales team on each opportunity, including actively participating in account planning and strategy, driving the technical agenda from initial engagement through deal closure
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends—such as advancements in cloud computing, data analytics, AI/ML, and cybersecurity that may influence or enhance Workiva solutions
• Execute the technical discovery process with customers to identify areas where Workiva solutions align to address customer needs
• Prepare and deliver dynamic, tailored, value-driven technical demos and presentations of the Workiva platform including examples, solutions, prototypes, and proofs of concept to demonstrate viability and value of Workiva solutions
• Work across various business lines at our customers including technical teams in IT, architecture, platform, and integration teams; and business functions in accounting, legal, finance, sustainability, audit, risk, FP&A, and financial reporting
• Address regional architecture requirements, including EMEA data sovereignty, data residency, and GDPR compliance, ensuring customer technical security teams are confident in Workiva’s deployment model
• Tailor technical messaging and solution demos to accommodate multi-currency and multi-entity consolidation
• Collaborate with team members to share findings and observations, learn from team members’ experiences, and celebrate successes
• Consistently and proactively share experiences and observations with Workiva’s product management, engineering, product marketing, sales leadership, and executive teams to foster cross-functional alignment and innovation
• Engage with customers and partners alike to ensure success and satisfaction with Workiva
• Demonstrate expertise across multiple domain areas, developing working knowledge of industries, departments, and use cases where Workiva can have an impact
• Actively pursue innovation and creative problem-solving using the Workiva platform

What You’ll Need

Minimum Qualifications

• 6 years of technical customer-facing experience, ideally in presales, implementation consulting, or training/enablement
• Experience with data management, database design, and analysis, with expertise in SQL, data modeling, multidimensional concepts (e.g., Essbase, TM1), relational theory, data transformation (e.g., Alteryx), and advanced Excel
• Experience in designing and understanding enterprise data architecture to be able to identify where Workiva can extend an organization’s data strategy
• Hands-on experience with various AI tools and an understanding of concepts like MCP
• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and IT security considerations, GDPR and data privacy regulations, and European cloud security standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands on experience with data platforms, ERPs, performance management systems, or BI platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric/Azure, etc)
• Hands-on experience with data integration and data integration software (e.g., Alteryx, FiveTran, MuleSoft)
• Financial services experience

Travel Requirement & Working Conditions

• Up to 40% travel for customer visits, conferences, and company events
• Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office
