Adyen is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) for Core Accounting in Amsterdam. You will work on complex distributed systems, building robust APIs and tooling that scale to support merchants worldwide.

We value hands-on contributors who can own features end-to-end, collaborate across time zones, and drive quality and performance in a fast-paced, office-first environment.

• 7+ years of experience in software development in a fast paced tech environment.
• Full professional proficiency in English.

• Work on complex technical projects from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing and launch into production.

Senior Software Engineer (Java) - Core Accounting

Core Accounting

Core Accounting & Configuration is a collection of 3 teams whose central goal is to ensure Adyen is able to produce compliant and auditable financial statements across all of Adyen’s product offerings and entities.

What this means in practice is that, at any point in time, Adyen must to be able to report on the status of every dollar in our system and whether that dollar is currently a cash, payable or receivable position AND on whose behalf is that dollar a cash, payable or receivable position.

What you’ll do:

• Work on complex technical projects from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing and launch into production.

Who you are:

• Familiar with complex large scale distributed systems.
• You have experience with Java, Web Services, REST Apis, Webhooks and SQL/PostgreSql.
• You have a good understanding of Software Engineering practices and interest in product knowledge.
• You enjoy working in a cross-functional team with roles like Data Science, Frontend, and Product.
• You value involving other people to hear different perspectives.
• You have an experimental mindset with a launch fast and iterate mentality.
• 7+ years of experience in software development industry in a fast paced tech environment
• Full professional proficiency in English
• This role is based out of our Amsterdam office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
