Job summary

S&T in The Hague seeks a Senior Scientist to advance underwater wireless communication and autonomous underwater systems. You will join a cross-disciplinary team tackling defence and security challenges, shaping algorithms and experiments to improve reliability under challenging conditions.

You will design and run experiments, evaluate data, and communicate results to stakeholders while growing your expertise in a multidisciplinary environment with international partners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering and/or computer science.
• Experience in telecommunications and signal processing, including algorithm development.
• Knowledge of modulations, network protocols and architectures.
• Preferably 8+ years of applied research experience.
• Strong English communication; Dutch is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to multiple projects by delivering innovative solutions for defence and security clients.
• Collaborate with project teams across disciplines; adapt to different project needs.
• Develop and optimize underwater communication algorithms across OSI model layers.
• Design, prepare and run experiments and simulations, plus real-world measurements.
