Job summary

SKF is seeking a Senior Scientist in lubrication to lead and develop modeling for Grease Life and Friction, transferring insights into practical SKF solutions. Based in the Netherlands (Houten), you will guide R&D activities and mentor a diverse team of experts.

You bring a PhD and 10+ years in bearing lubrication, with proven leadership and strong English communication in an international environment.

Qualifications

PhD in mechanical engineering or physics/chemical engineering.
10+ years of bearing lubrication and modeling experience.
Broad knowledge of grease lubrication and modeling techniques.
Proven stakeholder management and leadership in research needs.
Experience in lubricant selection, tribology and experimental research.
Ability to drive value chain from customer needs to R&D.
Mentor and coach lubrication experts and researchers.

Responsibilities

Leading and supporting the Grease Life and Friction modeling, transferring experiments into models.
Contribute inputs for Lubrication research roadmaps.
Guide collaboration with external partners (universities and suppliers).
Steer technical discussions with stakeholders to map SKF needs.
Build insights and skills on different lubrication technologies.
Mentor junior and senior researchers with PhDs.
Manage and contribute to R&D activities around Lubrication.
