Job summary

SBM Offshore in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Engineer to design and engineer high-safety, reliable offshore solutions. You will lead mechanical design and equipment integration across packages, ensuring compliance with international codes and SBM standards, collaborating with vendors and internal teams to deliver complex deepwater projects.

With 5–10 years in Oil & Gas, you will shape technical solutions, plan activities within budgets, and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned

Responsibilities

• Select methods and procedures, perform the work, and optimize design to meet specs and standards.
• Plan and complete activities within time frame and budget, ensuring system interfaces.
• Ensure Scope of Work complies with contractual and SBM internal requirements.
• Incorporate lessons learnt and manage change impacts across project boundaries.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties as required.
• May be assigned as a Package Engineer with responsibility for design, procurement and manufacture of the Package.
• Lead engineers on assigned scope of work; may act as Discipline Lead.

Purpose

• The Senior Engineer's purpose is to design and engineer solutions that achieve high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, thereby contributing to the projects and organization's strategic objectives and long-term success.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
• You are responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget, as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
• You ensure that your Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM's internal requirements.
• You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
• You coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and SBM's internal requirements.
• You may be assigned as a Package Engineer with technical responsibility for the design, procurement and manufacture of the Package.
• You start leading engineers on assigned scope of work
• You may act as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope of work.
