Job summary

ING is seeking a Senior Red Team Operator in Amsterdam to lead advanced red team engagements across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will design long‑running, intelligence‑led campaigns that mirror sophisticated threat actors, test our global enterprise, and develop bespoke tooling in C++, C#, or Go while maintaining strict OPSEC.

You will collaborate with our SOC in purple team exercises, deliver actionable executive reports, and strengthen ING's security posture through hands‑on

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a dedicated red team role.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Strong development skills in at least one low-level language (e.g., C++, C#, Go, Rust) for custom tool development and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Deep experience attacking complex enterprise environments, including Active Directory and major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Operational Security (OPSEC) mindset with ability to conduct covert, objective-driven operations.

Responsibilities

• Leading advanced red team engagements.
• Design and conduct complex, long-run red team campaigns across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Executing the full attack lifecycle from initial access to data exfiltration while evading detection.
• Developing and maintaining red team infrastructure and C2 tooling.
• Driving purple teaming to tune detections and improve playbooks with SOC.
• Developing custom tooling to bypass defences using languages like C++, C#, or Go.
• Delivering actionable insights to the business through comprehensive executive reports.
