Job summary

Johnson & Johnson's AMO Groningen BV is seeking a Sr. R&D Scientist for the JnJ Surgical Vision unit in Groningen, Netherlands.

This 2-year contract focuses on the design, execution, and reporting of clinical studies for intraocular lenses and associated optical metrology. You will develop new concepts, validate test methods, and collaborate with European research institutes and cross-functional teams to advance innovative ophthalmic devices.

Qualifications

BS/MS/PhD in Optics, Physics or Vision Science
Preferably 3+ years of relevant experience
Proficient in optical design principles using Zemax, OSLO or other tools
Demonstrated research experience in technology development

Responsibilities

Participate in development of new concepts for medical devices from ideation to market
Support design and development of intraocular lenses and optical metrology
Develop test methods and validation systems for ocular lenses
Support requirements development, documentation, and protocol/report writing
Stay current with competitive products and industry trends for innovative design
Collaborate with European research institutes and cross-functional teams
Work with USA R&D groups and internal teams
