Job summary

YTEC seeks an experienced QA engineer to define, improve, and maintain QA processes across multiple projects in a hybrid Dutch setting. You will design test strategies, perform diverse testing types, and collaborate with developers, PO, PM, and customers to boost software quality.

You will drive test automation initiatives, ensure release readiness, and foster a quality-first mindset while delivering pragmatic QA solutions across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• Experience creating test plans, test cases, and test strategies.
• Experience with functional, integration, regression, acceptance, and exploratory testing.
• Experience testing APIs and backend systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• A proactive mindset and strong sense of ownership.
• Attention to detail combined with pragmatic decision-making.
• You genuinely care about software quality.
• You identify problems before customers doYou take initiative rather than waiting for instructions.
• You continuously improve your knowledge of testing methodologies and tools.
• You help developers and teams become better, not just report bugs.
• You can balance quality standards with practical business realities.
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or Insomnia.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience working in custom software development or software agencies.
• A basic understanding of software architecture, databases, and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Define, improve, and maintain QA processes across multiple projects
• Design test strategies and test plans based on project risks and requirements
• Perform functional, integration, regression, acceptance, exploratory, and API testing
• Identify risks early and proactively prevent quality issues
• Work closely with developers, product owners, project managers, and customers
• Help teams improve quality throughout the entire software development lifecycle
• Contribute to test automation initiatives and quality tooling
• Improve release readiness and deployment confidence
• Promote a quality-first mindset within the organization
