Job summary

Neste in Rotterdam (Maasvlakte) seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead process engineering efforts in the Refining Technical department. You will oversee a designated refinery unit, collaborate with Operations and Maintenance, and focus on mid- to long-term unit improvements.

Requirements include a Bachelor or Master in chemical engineering and at least 5 years in petrochemical/industrial production, with preference for refinery commissioning/start-up experience and Dutch work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in chemical engineering is a requirement.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in petrochemical and/or industrial production.
• Experience with commissioning and start up of a new refinery is a strong preference.
• You are currently based in the Netherlands and are authorized to work in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Technical expert of technology assigned unit;
• Identify deviations and provide pragmatic solutions in line with guidelines;
• Ensure to operate assigned unit within environmental boundaries;
• Unit performance monitoring related to compliance and process safety;
• Unit performance monitoring related to efficiency (i.e. energy, variable costs and OEE);
• Initiate and develop improvement ideas in a systematic manner;
• Shut-down/Start-up support during planned and unplanned events;
• Reviewer of operational shut-down/ start-up instructions.
