Job summary

Sioux Technologies, based in Eindhoven, seeks a Senior Optical Designer to lead end-to-end optical system design for high-tech products, from concept through industrialization. You will work with customers in semiconductor, analytical and medical devices, guiding multidisciplinary teams across design, verification and integration.

You bring a strong physics background (Masters/PhD) and 5+ years in optical systems, with expertise in holography, ptychography, metrology and opto-mechanics.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in physics or a closely related field.
• 5+ years of experience in design, realization, verification and industrialization of optical systems for the high-tech industry, including lens and illumination design as well as imaging / machine vision applications.
• A system-level mindset with ability to switch between high-level system thinking and detailed technical analysis.
• Experience with system integration aspects of optical sub-systems including opto-mechanics, tolerance analysis, metrology, and calibration.
• Strong understanding of optical measurement techniques, including holography and ptychography.
• Excellent modelling, experimental and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Guide the entire product creation process from concept phase to industrialization.
• Support customers in developing high-tech systems for semiconductor, analytical, and medical equipment.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers in projects.
• Collaborate with system architects, computational physicists and image processing specialists to deliver robust designs.
