Job summary

Liberty Global seeks a seasoned Network Security Engineer to protect Tier-1 core networks and drive security hygiene improvements. You will work with core network architects, engineering, operations and global security to translate findings into risk mitigations and incident response guidance.

The role emphasizes collaboration with external bodies and internal teams to elevate security across a multinational ISP footprint, including monitoring, investigations and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Experience securing large ISP networks.
• Knowledge of BCP38/84, RPKI and BGP routing.
• Ability to translate findings into risks and advise on mitigations.
• Experience with incident response and security reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an authority on Internet security questions (Network Hygiene, MANRS, DDoS mitigation, BGP routing).
• Trace sources of BGP hijacks, leaks, DDoS, malware or abuse traffic.
• Review and update security requirements in policies and guidelines.
• Identify improvements and drive implementation.
• Collaborate with Global Security Operations Centre and external teams to set priorities.
• Engage with security bodies like RIPE, CableLabs, RIPE NCC to align best practices.
