Nextens is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own parts of a critical tax platform used by thousands of professionals in the Netherlands. You will design and deliver robust software, make sound technical choices, and raise the platform’s quality where accuracy and maintainability matter.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development with growing ownership.
• Proficient in C#, .NET, Azure and modern web tech.
• Strong quality mindset: testing, refactoring, code reviews, clean architecture.
• Willingness to use AI-assisted development tools responsibly.
• Fluent English; Dutch reading skills; speaking optional.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and evolve core tax filing modules with maintainability.
• Apply modern engineering practices and AI-assisted tools to boost productivity.
• Develop backend and frontend components, APIs, interfaces and integrations.
• Contribute to new features and external system integrations.
• Collaborate with domain experts and product owners to translate regulations.
• Improve engineering quality via testing, refactoring, code reviews, mentoring.
