Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Engineer to design and engineer solutions that meet high safety, reliability and sustainability standards.

You will select methods, plan activities within budget, ensure interfaces, coordinate with vendors and lead engineers on assigned scopes.

Candidates should have 5–10 years in oil & gas with naval architecture experience and exposure to package engineering and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in oil & gas.
• Engineering design and calculation tools.
• Detailed design experience.
• Package engineering and manufacturing experience.
• Naval architecture knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Select methods and procedures, perform the work, and optimize the design within specifications and international codes.
• Proactively plan and complete activities within time frame and budget and ensure system interfaces.
• Ensure Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with contractual and SBM internal requirements.
• Apply lessons learnt and assess change impact within project boundaries.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties per contractual requirements.
• May be assigned as a Package Engineer with technical responsibility for design, procurement and manufacture.
• Lead engineers on assigned scope of work and potentially act as Discipline Lead.

Purpose

• The Senior Engineer's purpose is to design and engineer solutions that achieve high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, thereby contributing to the projects and organization's strategic objectives and long-term success.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
• You are responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget, as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
• You ensure that your Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
• You coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You may be assigned as a Package Engineer with technical responsibility for the design, procurement and manufacture of the Package.
• You start leading engineers on assigned scope of work
• You may act as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope of work.
