Job summary

Boskalis is seeking a Senior 3D Modeler to join the Hydronamic engineering department in Papendrecht, with involvement in Abu Dhabi projects. You will develop 3D designs and coordinate models for tenders and constructed projects, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

You will mentor colleagues, align with CAD–BIM standards, and support cross‑disciplinary teams across the maritime sector. Fluency in English is essential, and full‑time work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a similar field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the maritime and/or dredging industry.
• Knowledge of Civil3D with SubAssembly Composer and Navisworks.
• Experience in a common data environment (CDE).
• Familiarity with CAD–BIM standards, regulations, and guidelines.
• Proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Develops 3D designs and reviews 3D models.
• Creates models using software, coordinating designs for implementation.
• Identifies interfaces, risks, and opportunities in project models.
• Advises design and project teams on technical aspects; creates process animations.
• Receive guidance on the Boskalis toolchain and business to accelerate development.

As a Senior 3D Modeler, you make a difference by transforming your passion for infrastructure and dredging projects into high-quality 3D models and detailed but pragmatically made 3D designs, continuously growing and taking on challenges in your field, in order to contribute valuable insights to projects within Boskalis.

You find it important to continue developing yourself and to keep challenging yourself in your field, so that you can make a valuable contribution to projects. You understand that project based work requires a balance between speed and accuracy; what you model will be constructed outside very soon.

As a 3D modeler, you work in the Hydronamic engineering department. Hydronamic has a team of around 80 people in different design disciplines, working from the main office in Papendrecht, on projects and working from our new offices in Abu Dhabi. Hydronamic is responsible for the construction designs in tenders and acquired projects within the Dredging division of Boskalis, often with an integral and multidisciplinary character.

Your responsibilities as a Senior 3D Modeler:

• Develops 3D designs, reviews 3D models, and creates models using software and other tools, methods, and techniques. Coordinates these models to optimally facilitate the implementation of the geometrical designs.


• Reviews drawing specifications and reference designs and gathers all necessary information. Determines what needs to be modeled in each construction phase.


• Identifies interfaces, risks, and opportunities in the project model, assists with coordination.


• Advises and supports design and projects teams on technical aspects and inquiries, creates animations to provide insight into processes and constructions.


• We will guide and coach you to work in our development toolchain and the Boskalis business, for you to quickly.

Your qualities
You can make your mark as a Senior 3D Modeler if you will have:

• Civil Engineering, Survey or similar Bachelor’s degree level of working and thinking.


• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the maritime and/or dredging industry.


• You have knowledge of modeling software Civil3D in combination with SubAssembly Composer and Navisworks


• You have knowledge of working in and maintaining a common data environment.


• Knowledge of CAD - BIM standards, regulations, and guidelines


• Proficient in the English language.
