Job summary

TAKS Handling Systems seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and realize mechanical solutions for complex machine-building projects. You will lead constructions, modules, and lines, ensuring high quality and manufacturability, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

You will contribute to concept development, process optimization, and knowledge sharing. The role rewards initiative, collaboration, and international project exposure within a dynamic organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level HBO in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in machine building or industrial automation.
• Experience leading or mentoring an engineering team is advantageous.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Ridder iQ.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault.
• Good command of Dutch and English.
• Willingness to travel internationally occasionally.

Responsibilities

Your Role as a Senior Mechanical Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you are responsible for designing, developing, and realizing mechanical solutions within complex machine‑building projects. You will work on constructions, modules, and complete machine lines, ensuring that designs are technically feasible, high in quality, and efficient to manufacture. In addition, you will play an important role in coordinating activities within the mechanical engineering team.

Alongside your technical responsibilities, you actively contribute to the development of new concepts, process optimisation, and knowledge sharing within the department.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Designing and detailing constructions, modules, and machine lines.
• Creating and maintaining 2D and 3D drawings and technical documentation.
• Monitoring quality, planning, and technical standards within projects.
• Acting as the technical point of contact within multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinating with project management, production, service departments, and suppliers.
• Identifying technical risks, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
• Contributing to standardization, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coaching and supporting engineers within the team.

Your Profile

You are an experienced and technically skilled engineer with a practical and analytical mindset. You can easily switch between multiple projects, set priorities, and maintain a clear overview. In addition, you combine technical expertise with strong communication skills and a coaching, collaborative attitude.

You work accurately, are quality‑ and solution‑oriented, and have experience with team coordination and process improvement. You also have an interest in innovation and the application of AI within engineering.

Furthermore, You Possess

• Bachelor's degree level (HBO) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience within machine building or industrial automation.
• Experience leading or mentoring an engineering team is considered an advantage.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Ridder iQ.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault.
• Experience with internal transport systems is considered an advantage.
• Good command of both Dutch and English.
• Willingness to attend training courses and travel internationally on an occasional basis.
