Job summary

CNS Media B.V. is seeking a senior Journalist to strengthen its editorial team. You will cover all aspects of content creation—research, writing and proofreading daily news and features—focusing on complex stories that fit a publisher’s business model.

You will work across CNS platforms and push insights to readers about market developments. You will report to the Editor-in-Chief, collaborate with the Platform Editor, and contribute to the CMS process while maintaining the CNS style guide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field; Master’s preferred.
• Native English language skills, both written and spoken.
• Minimum 4 years of working experience in a similar role.
• Living within a 30-minute commuting distance of Arnhem or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Engage in every element of content creation: writing, researching, and proofreading daily news articles and features.
• Conduct interviews and turn collected information into writings, videos, and features.
• Attend and report on international trade shows, exhibitions, or media trips.
• Write and proofread stories, posts, newsletters, in-depth articles, reports, and webinar scripts.
• Upload content via the CMS and coordinate with the Platform Editor.
• Feature writing for The World of Food Ingredients.
• Webinar moderation.

About The Job

You will allocate most of your time to a dedicated platform, while you are hands‑on and a team player who writes across the various platforms published by CNS Media. In an exciting newsroom environment, you push to bring insights forward and inform our readers about the latest developments in the market.

The editorial team is jointly responsible for coordinating all daily content for our platforms: The World of Food Ingredients , Food Ingredients First , Nutrition Insight , Packaging Insights , and Personal Care Insights . Your main focus will be Nutrition Insight.

You report directly to the Editor-in-Chief. For day-to-day operations and editorial questions, turn to the Platform Editor, who is your first point of contact. You create, proof, and upload your content through the CMS, stay in daily contact with the Platform Editor, and share your results in the bi-weekly editorial meetings.

CNS Media is a leading provider of B2B industry news and analysis on product development in FMCG-related industries. Key topics of specialization include business news, ingredient and product launches, research & development, and regulatory analysis. The content produced will be published on our industry-leading platforms.

Job Requirements

Your responsibilities

• Engage in every element of content creation: writing, researching, and proofing daily news articles and features for our titles.


• Conduct interviews and turn collected information into writings, videos, and features.


• You know how to establish and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, such as marketing and communication contacts at suppliers, thought leaders, executives, and industry representatives.


• Attend and report on international trade shows, exhibitions, or media trips.


• Find industry interest for editorial opportunities to be shared with the platform editor.


• Write and proofread stories, posts, newsletters, in-depth articles, reports, and webinar scripts.


• Research and authenticate facts, dates, and statistics.


• Uploading and organizing content via the Content Management System (CMS).


• Researching and writing in-depth reports and features.


• Deliver the created content in our corporate style guide, while using our Grammarly tool.


• Feature writing for our journal, The World of Food Ingredients.


• Webinar moderation.


• You perform as a role model for our journalists in our team. Be helpful if asked for help, and to develop their writing skills.


• You provide high-quality articles and features day in day out. The first drafts provided by you require little rework or feedback based on your experience and attention to detail.


• For continuous professional growth, you attend a yearly performance appraisal meeting with your manager.

Your Skills/qualifications

We are looking for a colleague with strong written English and verbal communication skills, a team player and a positive can‑do attitude.

• Living within a 30-minute commuting distance of Arnhem (or willing to relocate) is a requirement.


• Native English language skills are essential, both written and spoken.


• Education: a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, Master’s preferred.


• A minimum of 4 years of working experience in a similar role.


• A passion for writing, editing, and proofreading are skills that you recognize in yourself.


• Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, a proactive mindset, being a team player, and working with tight deadlines are required skills.


• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
