Job summary

Jobtailor zoekt een ervaren Java Software Engineer die hoogwaardige software ontwerpt en ontwikkelt met focus op schaalbare microservices en cloud-native oplossingen. Je werkt aan RESTful API’s, CI/CD-implementaties en technische besluitvorming binnen een multidisciplinair team.

Je begeleidt junior engineers, documenteert technische aspecten en werkt nauw samen met Product Management, ML Engineers en andere stakeholders. Affiniteit met data-, analytics- of AI-platformen is een voordeel.

Qualifications

• HBO- or WO-level work and thinking level or equivalent professional experience.
• Approx. 7+ years of experience as a Java Software Engineer.
• Extensive commercial experience with Java.
• Experience designing scalable microservice architectures.
• Experience with event-driven systems and messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or NATS.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Quarkus or similar frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, including PostgreSQL.
• Experience with SQL optimization and data modeling.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and processes such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and container platforms.
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns, data structures and algorithms.
• Understanding of security principles and secure software development.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Good English communication skills.
• Desirable: Go and/or Python.
• Desirable: Experience with gRPC.
• Desirable: Experience with data, analytics or AI platforms.
• Desirable: Experience with cloud-native architectures.
• Desirable: Mentoring or technical coaching.
• Desirable: Experience in fast-growing scale-ups or startup environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and implement high-quality Java software.
• Contribute to software architecture and technical decision-making.
• Develop scalable microservices and cloud-native solutions.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD processes.
• Perform code reviews and uphold high code quality standards.
• Resolve complex technical issues and production incidents.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with Product Management, ML Engineers, Frontend Developers and other stakeholders.
• Elaborate requirements further.
• Contribute to event-driven architectures, real-time messaging and complex data pipelines.
• Continuously improve systems, architecture and development processes.
• Work on a modern data- and AI-platform to collect, link, analyze and search media and data sources.
