Job summary

Polarsteps in Amsterdam is hiring a medior iOS engineer to help build the travel app used by millions. You’ll work closely with the Lead iOS Engineer and cross-functional teams to implement features, improve performance, and maintain the day-to-day operations of the iOS app.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on iOS development, Swift, UIKit and SwiftUI, plus experience with multithreading, GCD, Combine, and modern concurrency.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on iOS development experience.
• Experience in agile teams and delivery in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong background in Swift; familiarity with Objective-C is a plus.
• Extensive experience with UIKit, SwiftUI and complex UIs.
• Experience with multithreading, GCD, Combine and Swift Concurrency.
• Proficiency with Xcode, performance/memory tools and profiling.

Responsibilities

• Implement new features, improve existing ones, and maintain day-to-day iOS app operations.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, and engineers across disciplines in a cross-functional setup.
• Improve maintainability, resiliency, and extensibility; tackle technical debt when needed.
• Work closely with the Lead iOS Engineer and the iOS team on app-related tasks.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing, and code quality initiatives.
