Senior International Construction Project Leader

Job description

We are Van Wijnen Engineering, a developer, engineering bureau, construction and real estate management company, working on sustainable and affordable solutions in the Netherlands. In this role you will be a senior construction engineer and project leader, responsible for coordinating a team of constructors in Belgrade and ensuring the quality, planning, and execution of construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Bearing the end responsibility for construction projects provided to the Belgrade team.
• Maintaining internal client contact with customers and project leaders.
• Preparing, allocating, and explaining construction assignments to the Belgrade team.
• Monitoring planning, progress, and capacity of the projects.
• Checking and evaluating hand‑in calculations, models and documents for quality.
• Identifying risks, deviations and optimisation opportunities in design and execution.
• Driving the development and safeguarding of processes related to international collaboration.
• Onboarding new employees in Belgrade and accompanying them during the first year; travelling to Serbia for face‑to‑face discussions and occasional follow‑ups.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master’s degree in Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering, specializing in construction.
• 5 to 10 years of professional experience in construction engineering (experience in residential or commercial construction is an advantage).
• Desire to broaden the role towards project leadership and international cooperation.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.
• Affinity for concrete construction and experience in designing and detailing concrete main and detail structures.
