Job summary

CRH Group Services Ltd. is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor, Technology to deliver risk-based audits across CRH’s technology and business environments. You will strengthen controls and improve risk management through thorough evaluation of processes, systems and data.

This hybrid role, based in Dublin or Amsterdam, offers exposure to a wide range of CRH businesses and a pathway to senior roles within internal audit. Candidates should have a strong IT audit background and travel readiness.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in technology, computer science, accounting, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as IT auditor within practice, private or public sector.
• Experience in SOX, IT governance, internal controls, ITGC controls testing, and preferably cyber security and/or SAP.
• Willing to travel to CRH companies, around 30%.
• A full, clean driving license is essential to support travel requirements.
• A relevant professional certification (CISA, CRISC, CISM or local equivalent).
• Exposure to data analytics and the use of Excel, Power BI and Tableau.
• Familiarity with audit software (Optro/AuditBoard preferred).
• Second European language (e.g., French, German, Polish, Romanian).

As a Senior Internal Auditor, Technology you will be part of a global Internal Audit team delivering risk-based engagements across CRH’s technology and business environments. You will contribute to strengthening the control environment and enhancing risk management by assessing technology, processes, systems and controls.

This role provides exposure to a wide range of businesses and technology across CRH. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand processes, identify risks and provide practical insights to improve control effectiveness and operational performance.

To be effective, you will apply strong analytical skills, critical thinking and professional skepticism when evaluating complex processes and data. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain broad experience across the CRH group, with potential to progress into more senior roles within internal audit or the wider organisation.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Execute internal audits, ensuring timely completion and adherence to professional standards.

Key Technical & Functional Competencies

For this role you should be able to/have the following:

• An understanding of IT policies,standards and control frameworks.
• Knowledge of data analysis concepts, data gathering techniques, basic excel proficiency, and data quality awareness. Ability to analyse data and trends to pinpoint underlying issues.
• An understanding of SOX compliance requirements & control testing methodologies.
• Develop audit programs to address the risks identified and to execute audit work effectively and adjust where required.
• Identify and assess potential weaknesses in technology policies, systems, tools, processes and controls.
• Clearly and concisely document audit work to support reporting.
• Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
• Communicate effectively, adapting style and messaging to different audiences.
• Comfortable with change and open to suggesting improvements to existing procedures to drive efficiency within the assigned area.
• Apply critical thinking to assess risks, challenge assumptions and draw sound conclusions
• Basic understanding of key technology risk areas (e.g. ITGC’s, systems, data and access controls)
• Ability to manage own workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines

Experience / Education
