Zusammenfassung

MR MARVIS, Amsterdam, seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to shape its evolving digital platform. You will work across the commerce storefront, integration workflows, and the data platform, partnering with product, design and operations to deliver scalable, resilient systems.

You will own architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and help balance speed with quality. The role blends hands-on development with strategic platform improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifikationen

• Significant experience as a full stack engineer, ideally in a senior or lead capacity.
• Strong TypeScript, React and Next.js, with a solid grasp of modern web app architecture and performance considerations.
• Backend and distributed-systems instincts: APIs, event-driven messaging, retries, and integration patterns.
• Comfort with cloud environments; serverless-first on Vercel and GCP, containerised where appropriate.
• Experience with commerce, ERP, fulfilment, content or search systems is a strong plus.
• Ability to read dbt models or SQL queries to trace issues; deep data engineering not required.
• Pragmatic mindset: knows when to move fast, when to simplify, and when to invest in foundations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Coaching mindset with curiosity, accountability, and product sense.

Aufgaben

• Build and improve MR MARVIS headless storefront using Next.js, React, TypeScript, integrating with Shopify, Sanity, and Algolia.
• Design and build an in-house integration platform with durable TypeScript workflows on GCP.
• Ensure resilience of flows across product data, orders, inventory, returns and fulfilment integrations.
• Own architectural decisions and document them (architecture docs, decision records).
• Collaborate with data team on contracts between systems and warehouse to align analytics and operations.
• Raise the bar on engineering practice: testing, observability, code quality and incident prevention.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, reviews and coaching.
• Work with product owners to balance speed, quality, and business impact.
