KPN Engineering Experience Excellence is the foundation of our engineering community where we steer and drive on innovation & change with a mindset to support our developer community within KPN. The mission of the Cloud Tools & Support team is to provide the best tools and support with the required to enable the development of craftmanship within our engineering community, that ranges from various SaaS tooling to KPN’s in house build tooling & applications. We serve internal KPN teams, which enable best practices for the development community to serve our Business 2 Consumers Services. Our tooling and applications play a key role in the business continuity of KPN’s vital services.
The Cloud Tools & Support team is largely expending the simplification of the customer journey of our tools and services, hence we need more software engineering skills, particularly in Go and Python, to accelerate that journey.
As a Senior Full Stack Developer – Cloud Tools & Support you are responsible for:
- Keep the best-in-industry running and feature tools, and software as part of the SDLC to improve the time to market of applications deployed in KPN’s landscape
- Defining and advocating a clear vision for existing tool set and day-to-day development to provide the best suitable tool/application
- Designing, development and implementation of tools & applications supporting the development teams
- Collaborating closely with the team located in the Netherlands India, but also external parties to evaluate and adopt new strategies, architectural choices, and technologies to provide best fit solutions for the development and engineering community.
- Advocate and enable a clear paved road with the team by clear communication, documentation, providing demos and presentations and with an automation first mindset
- Actively supporting teams in adopting the use of the tooling and applications in practice
- Mentoring software developers in- and outside the team

What do we expect from you?
- Proven experience as a Senior Developer with engineering background for 7+ years
- Strong focus on automation with a keen autonomy mentality
- DevOps automation and self-service platforms experience including configuration and deployment
- Convincing programming and scripting skills – pre in Go, Bash and nice to have as Python
- Experience with AWS Cloud and its services (AWS Certified is a plus)
- Experience in working with private keys, certificates and authentication mechanisms
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-code – pre in TerraForm
- Experience in working with Linux OS and bash scripting
- Led adoption of best practices through documentation, workshops, demos, and technical guidance
- Supported teams in onboarding and effective usage of platform services and development tools
- Pro-active mindset and able to manage your own time
- Experienced working with Agile Way of Working (Scrum/Kanban)
- Working at least 2 days per week from our office in Amsterdam, or any regional office
- Willing to be part of Core Standby schedule (rotation of 3 days within two weeks)
