About this role

This role improves the scalability and effectiveness of the Legal function by turning recurring legal work into better tools, workflows and data-enabled processes. It reduces manual effort, improves visibility of legal activity and helps the function deliver more consistently across markets and teams.

Location: This role can be based in Amsterdam, London, or Berlin. Reporting to: Director of Legal

These are some of the key components to the position:

• Lead senior operational engineering support for Legal Operations and Transformation, designing tools, workflows and automation that improve legal delivery.
• Translate Legal function requirements into practical technology solutions, prototypes, dashboards, automations and process improvements.
• Own technical design choices for assigned tools within agreed architecture, security, data and governance guardrails.
• Partner with Legal, Product, Tech, Data, Compliance and business stakeholders to prioritise use cases and convert them into deployable solutions.
• Monitor performance, adoption and reliability of legal operations tools, resolving issues and recommending improvements.
• Document solution design, user guidance and operating processes so that tools can be maintained and scaled.

What will you bring to the team?

• Strong interest in regulation affecting digital businesses (e.g., digital markets, platform regulation, AI regulation, competition, payments, employment).
• Demonstrated experience coding, building and deploying AI solutions (e.g., agents, bots, automation scripts, LLM workflows, APIs, data pipelines).
• Ability to assist in the design and implementation of technical systems architecture.
• A talent for translating the legal team’s needs into substantive tools, processes, agents and deployable apps.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, or similar languages; familiarity with LLM APIs and automation frameworks is a strong plus.
• Ability to structure unstructured data and design systems that monitor regulatory change.
• Experience building dashboards, workflow automation, or internal tools is highly desirable.
• Comfort with G-suite, Microsoft Office and collaborative tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills, able to bridge technical and legal stakeholders
