Job description

DeltaQuad develops autonomous UAV systems for demanding operational environments. Our platforms are built to perform where reliability, resilience and operational readiness are critical.

About the Resilience Team

The Resilience Team bridges engineering and operations. We identify vulnerabilities, investigate field issues and develop and validate improvements that strengthen the reliability and operational effectiveness of our UAV platforms. By combining multidisciplinary engineering, real-world testing and operational feedback, we ensure our systems remain mission-ready in challenging environments.

The role

As a Senior Electrical & Avionics Engineer, you are the technical owner of the electrical and avionics integrity of our UAV platforms. You define and validate robust power architectures, avionics interfaces and embedded hardware that remain safe and predictable during electrical disturbances, subsystem faults and demanding operations.

This end-to-end role covers system architecture, schematic and PCB design, hardware bring-up, integration, fault investigation, flight validation and controlled release.

What you'll do
  • Define electrical architectures, power trees, load budgets, grounding concepts and critical-load priorities.
  • Design power distribution, monitoring and protection against brownout, overvoltage, reverse polarity, inrush, short circuits and power interruptions.
  • Design schematics and multilayer PCBs for power, avionics, sensor, timing and mission-system applications.
  • Integrate batteries, BMS systems, flight controllers, sensors, servos, radios, payloads and embedded computers.
  • Develop harnesses, connector definitions, pinouts, shielding details and interface-control documentation.
  • Integrate systems through CAN, DroneCAN/UAVCAN, UART, Ethernet, SPI, I²C, USB, discrete I/O and PPS/timing interfaces.
  • Improve reliability through EMI/EMC mitigation, fault containment, derating, power-integrity analysis and fault-injection testing.
  • Perform hardware bring-up, structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of electrical and system-level faults.
  • Define and execute laboratory, environmental, vibration, thermal, HIL and flight-validation testing.
  • Maintain schematics, PCB files, BOMs, hardware revisions, test procedures and release documentation.
  • Develop test fixtures, manufacturing tests and integration standards, and support handover to Engineering and Production.
Who you are

At DeltaQuad, we value mindset as much as experience. We're looking for engineers with an intrinsic motivation to solve complex technical challenges and take ownership.

You're hands‑on, analytical and enjoy finding the root cause of difficult electrical or system‑level issues. You work well across disciplines, communicate clearly and combine practical engineering with a structured approach to validation and quality.

Flight testing, customer support and operational deployments may occasionally require work outside regular office hours or international travel. You're flexible, understand what operational excellence requires and are willing to step in when the mission demands it.

What you bring
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Avionics or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded electronics, avionics, UAVs, robotics, aerospace, defence or other mission‑critical systems.
  • Proven experience taking electrical hardware from architecture or field failure through design, bring‑up, validation and release.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical architecture, DC power systems, grounding, protection, monitoring and failure containment.
  • Experience with schematic and multilayer PCB design using Altium, KiCad or similar tools.
  • Hands‑on experience with board bring‑up, rework, probing, test equipment and root‑cause analysis.
  • Experience with CAN, UART, Ethernet, SPI, I²C, USB and embedded communication interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of EMI/EMC, shielding, filtering, signal integrity, power integrity and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of DfM, DfT, BOM risk, component lifecycle and hardware configuration control.
  • Experience with PX4/Pixhawk, DroneCAN/UAVCAN, GNSS/PNT, SATCOM or tactical communications is an advantage.
Why DeltaQuad
  • Work on technology with real‑world operational impact.
  • Design and validate the electrical systems powering next‑generation autonomous UAVs.
  • Work with the latest technologies in autonomous aviation, embedded electronics, avionics, RF communications and mission systems.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of passionate engineers.
  • Take ownership from concept and hardware design to flight validation and operational deployment.
  • See your work tested, flown and used by customers around the world.
What we offer
  • Coaching and professional growth opportunities
  • 27 vacation days (based on full-time)
  • 38-hour workweek with flexible working hours
  • Travel reimbursement of €0.25/km or full compensation for public transport (2nd class)
  • Excellent pension scheme through the PME pension fund
  • Work in an innovative, high‑tech environment with real‑world impact
  • Open, informal company culture where your ideas are valued
  • Lunch provided by DeltaQuad, monthly team drinks, and regular team activities.

Please note that, as part of our recruitment process, we may request a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and conduct a background screening in accordance with our screening policy. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation throughout this process.
