SOURCE.ME in the Netherlands (Gelderland) seeks a senior .NET backend engineer to own and optimize the money-flow services that power payments on their platform. You’ll ensure consistency across billed, paid, and recorded data and integrate with external partners in a production environment.
The role emphasizes 5+ years of backend C#/.NET, transactional payments experience, and a preference for being on-site east of the Netherlands.
I’m looking for a .NET engineer who’s moved real money for a living.
Banks, PSPs, insurers, billing platforms. They’re an eMobility SaaS scale-up in the Netherlands. Businesses across Europe use their platform to run EV charging and keep it in balance with the grid. I’ve worked with them for a while. I know the people and how they build.
Every charging session on their platform ends in a payment. Someone gets billed. Someone gets paid. Their Transactions team owns that whole flow, and a lot of money moves through it every day.
Plenty of people can write C#. Far fewer have built money flows that have to reconcile.
That’s who I’m looking for.
Building and hardening the services that move money through the platform. Making sure nothing goes missing and nothing gets processed twice. Making sure what’s billed, what’s paid and what’s recorded all match. Integrating with external partners, because money never stays inside one system. Then owning it in production, with monitoring and incidents included.
C#/.NET on Azure, PaaS wherever possible. Azure Functions. Service Bus is how the services talk to each other. Cosmos DB and Azure SQL for data. App Insights and Grafana for watching it all.
So if you’ve lived with retries, dead-letter queues, duplicate messages, out-of-order events, idempotency keys and audit trails, you’ll feel at home in week one.
They work in focused six-week cycles rather than endless two-week sprints. One real problem, proper time to solve it, something shipped at the end.
Most of the people I’d want for this are already doing this work. Moving money safely for a bank or a payments company. This is the same work, pointed at getting more EVs on the road and keeping the grid in balance.
