Job summary

Lonza Oss (Synaffix) invites applications for a Development Manager II in the DAM department. You will own development strategies, manage external manufacturing networks, and ensure reliable supply across clinical development and beyond.

Collaboration with licensees and cross-functional teams is essential to drive program execution while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance. You will lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, and scalable production processes, while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry or related discipline.
• 5–10 years in pharmaceutical development, process development, CMC, or GMP manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and manufacturing processes.
• Experience managing external development and manufacturing partners (CDMOs/CROs).
• Excellent communication and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Define development strategies and roadmaps with milestones and budgets for assigned components.
• Lead vendor selection activities and contract negotiations with Legal and other stakeholders.
• Act as process owner for development and manufacturing of assigned components; design scalable production processes.
• Define and implement process and analytical development strategies for assigned components.
• Oversee manufacturing campaigns, regulatory documentation, and compliance activities.
• Prepare and review regulatory documentation with Regulatory Affairs.
• Support relationships with licensees and align supply with clinical development requirements.
• Collaborate with QA, Regulatory, R&D, Manufacturing Technology & Analytics and other stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate SME contributions.
• Support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement across DAM.
