Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience as an engineer, able to work independently after an introduction period.

• Proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for commercial negotiations with the customer.

Overview

Senior Design & Proposal Engineer Marine & Offshore at Eekels Technology B.V. Location: Kolham and/or Gorinchem. In this role you play a crucial part in the bid process for electrical installations and systems for ships, contributing to a wide range of projects within the dynamic maritime industry. As part of the Design & Proposal team, you analyse customer needs and contribute to the development of functional concept designs, specifications, calculations and offers based on system effectiveness and sustainability. When an order is confirmed, you ensure a seamless transition from the bid dossier to the project team.

What you will do

• Technical backbone of the sales team, responsible for commercial negotiations with the customer;
• Maintain contact with the customer and discuss requests to offer the best-fitting proposal;
• Translate customer wishes into a preliminary design, forming the basis for the execution of technical specifications, cost estimates and the proposal to the customer;
• Play a crucial, supportive role in selling complete installations and complex technical systems and products;
• Determine strategy, in consultation with the Manager Design & Proposal, to offer on time and with the desired technical content accuracy;
• Be responsible for calculating a reliable cost price, supported by a complete dossier;
• Select suppliers and subcontractors and maintain contact with internal suppliers;
• Initiate improvement proposals (process improvement, standard calculations, calculation tools) as needed to strengthen Eekels’ competitive position.

Requirements

• HBO work- and thinking level;
• Experience in electrical engineering or an education in electrical engineering is a plus;
• Experience in the energy transition is a plus;
• Experience with systems in the maritime sector is a plus;
• More than 5 years of experience as an engineer and, after a short introduction period, able to work independently;
• Good command of Dutch and English, in word and writing.
