Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking an experienced Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer to develop data-driven solutions within a large financial organisation in Amsterdam.

You will work at the intersection of data science, software engineering, and business, turning complex datasets into scalable solutions for real-world applications. You will collaboration with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders to deploy and monitor ML models in production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, ML or a related field.
• Strong Python skills.
• Experience with pandas, NumPy and scikit-learn or similar frameworks.
• Experience bringing models into production.
• Experience working with large datasets.
• Understanding of software engineering principles.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and productionise machine learning models.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify patterns and opportunities.
• Build data processing and feature engineering pipelines.
• Develop Python-based data and machine learning solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Software Engineers and business stakeholders.
• Experiment with different statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Deploy, monitor and improve models in production.
• Contribute to MLOps and model lifecycle management.
• Translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions.
