Job summary

NES Fircroft seeks a Senior Data Scientist for a permanent role operating in a hybrid model (Rotterdam with offshore options such as Monaco or Porto). The role involves building AI-powered data science solutions using Azure platforms and leading end-to-end analytics initiatives.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop ML models, and ensure production-grade delivery with MLOps practices, while leveraging time series analysis, OCR and document processing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics.
• Strong ML/AI fundamentals with practical implementation experience.
• Experience with Python-based data science and ML workflows.
• Familiarity with Azure ML, MS Foundry, and governance considerations.
• Proven experience with time series analysis and document processing (OCR).

Senior Data Scientist – Permanent

Location can be Monaco, Porto or Rotterdam

Hybrid 3 days on site, 2 days remote

Fluent in English

Required:- Minimum of 5 years of experience as Data Scientist or similar position. Proven experience developing Python-based data science & machine learning solutions. Microsoft Azure (Azure ML, MS Foundry). Generative AI, including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, & AI governance considerations. Experience in computer vision &/or large document processing (OCR, document classification, information extraction). Experience with time series analysis, prediction, abnormal behaviours detection. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, & production-grade ML workflows. Oil & Gas domain experience is preferred. Strong analytical mindset, autonomy, attention to detail, & a collaborative, stakeholder-oriented approach.

Senior Data Scientist Purpose

As a Senior Data Scientist, you contribute to the design & delivery of data driven & AI powered solutions within my client’s Data & Information Management Team. You collaborate closely with cross functional teams—including data scientists, business intelligence developers, data architects, data engineers, enterprise architects, & business stakeholders—to transform complex operational challenges into scalable solutions based on advanced analytics, machine learning, AI, & Generative AI models.

Senior Data Scientist Responsibilities

• Design, develop, industrialize, & maintain end to end data science & AI solutions across data preparation, modeling, validation, & lifecycle management, primarily using Azure based data & AI technologies.
• Develop & evaluate advanced analytical models, including statistical methods, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, & large-scale document processing pipelines, aligned with business & technical objectives.
• Contribute to Generative AI initiatives, such as LLM based solutions, document intelligence, copilots, & automation agents, in alignment with enterprise AI governance, security, & compliance standards.
• Ensure production readiness through performance assessment, robustness checks, & application of MLOps best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify business needs, define success criteria, & translate use cases into deployable analytics solutions.
• Build clear reports, & technical documentation to communicate results to both technical & non-technical audiences.
• Work in an agile environment using tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, & cloud-native services.

Education

• Master's or Engineering program in Data Science/Computer Science/Applied Mathematics/or a related quantitative field.
• Solid academic background in mathematics, statistics, machine learning & software engineering.
